About the author

Alexandra Smith I started at Capgemini in the summer of 2008, after graduating from college. I attended the University of Texas at Austin (Hook ‘em horns!) and majored in Finance with a minor in Accounting. Prior to joining Capgemini, I had work experience doing an internship in investment banking. I joined the SAP Finance group in July 2008 and made a jump over to the SAP Human Capital Management group where most of my experience now lies. I have worked across several industries (engineering and heavy construction, transportation, chemical, retail, and oil & gas) and countries (US and Canada) and now specialize in how organizations manage their employee’s data, how they manage their organizational structure, and how they perform performance appraisals. I am fortunate to have great leadership and support within Capgemini to allow me to learn the latest trends in the industry and support me in learning new functional areas. I grew up in San Antonio, went to college in Austin, and now call Houston home, which is where my home office is located. Needless to say, if I chose to, I could get a bumper sticker that says, “Texas born and raised.” I cheer for the Texas Longhorns any chance I get and support the Big 12. In my free time I enjoy exploring Houston’s culture, seeing live concerts, running, and cycling. I also enjoy cooking and trying out new recipes when the mood strikes.
